    Day 3 Pireaus

    Went to Piraeus to confirm our cruise tickets to Mykonos and had a fabulous lunch of local cuisine, Greek coffee and cookies. Then we continued on our touristy thing and visited the Hadrian Arch and Temple of Olympian Zeus.Read more

    Day 6 Santorini

    Took a ferry from Mykonos to Santorini. Went to Kamari Beach(Black beach) by bus, then after a swim we bus to Oia to catch the sunset.

    Today we celebrate our 33rd wedding anniversary. Flew from Santorini to Athens, then drove to Delphi. Stopped for lunch at Thiva and a ski resort called Arachova. We are staying at Athina Hotel in Room 10.Read more

    Day 9 Delphi to Kalambaka

    When you've been to Acropolis in Athens, we may just as well take photos outside the Temple of Apollo in Delphi and enjoy the spring water. We then drove to Kalambaka with a pitstop at Lamia.

    Day 12 Volos

    Woke up early to walk around the port area of Volos, then went marketing for prawns and mussels. Took a drive to find Stream at Poros and found this place which sells honey. Simple lunch and visit at Zagora.Read more

    Taking a bus to cross over from Thessaloniki Greece to Skopje North MacedoniaMet up with Lynette and Boon. We are staying next to Mother Theresa's MemoriaMarket at the Old BazaarDinner was at an underground courtyard in the city

    Leaving Greece and entering into North Macedonia by bus again. Foot tour around the Macedonia Square. The ice cream here is so cheap. Half of what we paid for in Greece.

    Day 18 Skopje to Lake Ohrid

    Self driving through EE starts today. Went up with cable car to Millennium Cross in Skopje first before leaving for Ohrid. First section of the drive through the R roads was quite an adventure until we reached a Bridge at Kozjak. But we stopped at a small town of Kicevo for a fantastic lunch. Didn't see much of Ohrid when we arrived as it was raining and pretty cold.Read more

    Day 20 Tirana to Kotor Bay, Montenegro

    We did a quick tour of the Skanderberg Square and surrounding area in the Old Town of Tirana. We stopped by a roadside restaurant for lunch and coffee and ice-cream and encountered traffic jams getting to Kotor Bay. We decided to take a ferry to cross over to get to our hotel which was really unexpected but a wonderful experience since it was already quite late.Read more

    In an area where there are many churches too.Lunch in an oyster and mussels farmSunbathing and enjoying the view and swam in the bay. The water is really cold.

    Day 21 Kotor and Kotor Bay

    We drove around the Kotor Bay this morning to get to Kotor. Stopped to take photo of our Lady of the Rock. We explored the Old Town of Kotor which was in a fort after breakfast at Hotel Azzuro. We had lunch in an oyster and mussels farm along Kotor Bay. Then we swam and sun bathed in front of our hotel.Read more

    Day 22 Kotor Bay to Dubrovnik, Croatia

    Crossing from Montenegro to Croatia there was a 3 hour crawl. We visited the Old Town of Dubrovnik, but didn't want to pay 35 Euros to walk on the walls. Cooked dinner at our 4 bedroom apartment as it was Eng Hoong and Wei Chia's farewell meal.Read more

    Day 23 Dubrovnik to Split

    We stopped by a small town Slano and visited Rectors Palace ground. Had coffee and pastry here. Then we stopped at Ston and Mali Ston and had fresh oysters from the farm here.

    River cruise on Certina River, Omis

    Day 24 Split and Omis

    We drove to Omis very near to Split and went on a river cruise on Certina River. Bought dried figs that was really fresh and sweet. Had hamburgers for lunch then made our way to Split Old Town.

    Day 25 Plitvice National Park

    August 27, 2024 in Croatia ⋅ ⛅ 20 °C

    Left Split this morning at 6 am and arrived at Plitvice National Park at 9.45 am. We walked, took an electric ferry, walked to Station 3 then took a bus ride to Station 1 and finally walked back to the entrance and realized that we took route C. Spent almost 7 hours in the park and had a great experience of crystal clear lakes and waterfalls everywhere.Read more

    Day 26 Plitvice to Ljubljana,Slovenia

    We had breakfast and bought lunch from a big Tommy Supermarket and ate it in a park in a small town in Slovenia. We visited a cheese farm cause we had a cheese platter last night and really liked the cheese that is locally made. We took a pit stop at the Dubrovac Castle and had coffee in the cafe inside. Arrived in Ljubljana and walked to the town centre to browse around and ended the day with dinner at a Slovenian restaurant.Read more
