Spain and Portugal, 2024

We explored Tavira in the morning, visiting the riverfront, the bridge built where a Roman bridge once stood, then finding a sign that said "Castelo" with an arrow that took us up a winding series of steep steps to what turned out to be the ruins of a Moorish castle with a botanical garden now filling the grounds. We then returned to Faro by taxi, had a wonderful picnic in the city park on the waterfront, then had an awesome seafood stew (monkfish, prawns, and mussels with rice) at the Cidade Vilha (old city) Restaurant. Spent the night in the Lemon Tree Bnb, flew to London on the 12th then home to Seattle on the 12th with a shuttle from Seattle to Wenatchee.Read more
