  • Rule #19 (plane ride back to reality)

    June 21, 2022 in Italy ⋅ ☀️ 79 °F

Lessons I learned on my first solo adventure (keep in mind I have never ate dinner or gone to a movie by myself):

*Check your recent traumatic event at the plane’s door

*When things are falling apart they may actually be falling into place

*If something makes you sad when it ends, it must have been pretty wonderful when it was happening
    (at least pre-Covid)

*It truly is OK to love yourself and put your health first despite unjust consequences

*Life would be much simpler if we could live it backwards

*Force yourself to attend the first “solo travelers” meeting… you will meet people from all over the world (Denmark, Germany, England, India, Scotland, The Netherlands, & Washington (my plus 1 for most of the trip) )

    * Remember the time changes (2 on this trip) especially when you’re supposed to gain an hour

    * Speaking of time changes… Whether you’re going to Europe or coming back from there, plan to do minimal when you get there and when you return

    * Whether you eat WAY TOO MUCH in CA or WAY TOO MUCH IN ITALY OR GREECE, you’re stomach will let you know

    * Research movies before buying (nothing like purchasing 3 movies that you have already seen 🙈)

    * Doublecheck that you are actually opening a fizzy water in the mini fridge (instead of regular water like the several liters you already have)

    *Live Laugh Love

*And when life gives you lemons, make limoncello

(random photos from my #EATPRAYLOVE trip)
(sorry if any are repeats - difficult to sort through the hundreds of photos I took)

Oh … and if the people in your solo group start coughing or not feeling well… STAY AWAY FROM THEM… #justtestedpositive🤬
