Dramatic Floods

In 1966 Florence was hit by a devastating flood. Over 1 million pieces of art were lost forever and 101 people were killed. It is hard to comprehend the flood but the water was 5 meters high throughout the city. The white plaque above Becky's head shows the level the water reached as does the marker post inside Santa Croce.
