New country and new adventure is coming...
Medellín is our first destination in Colombia. We are staying at Taby's beautiful house and we will celebrate Christmas together also with Butti and other friends. It's gonna be first time celebrating Christmas with 25°C.

Puerto Morelos

We got back where our travel in Mexico started. We stayed with other couchsurfer but met with Chester (our first couchsurfer in Mexico). We enjoyed time on the beach and went for snorkeling, where we could see coral reefs, many different kinds of fish and even a ray. We also went for bouldering after long time, where we ealized how weak we got during traveling.Les mer

Tulum

About Tulum we were little bit sceptical, because it's very busy touristic area. But thanks to couchsurfing experince with Oscar we had really nice time. We went to the beach and also visited two cenotes, one of them was private just for us (thanks to other guy from couchsurfing which work there as an architect). We also went out after long time to dance some salsa.Les mer

Bacalar

To Bacalar we had two longest hitchhiking, 570km in 11hours with just two cars.
Bacalar has beautiful lagune of 7 colors. We stayed with Andrés and went with him and many friends to enjoy time by the lake. Next day we borrow kayak and spend almost all the day exploring lake, islands and cenotes.Les mer

Villahermosa

In Villahermosa we could see a lot of wild animals in park, also crocodiles that were in the lake in the middle of the town. We had great couchsurfing again with Faby and Isaac.

Coatzacoalcos

This place was little bit like ghost town. Many places had to close because of a lot of corruption in there. Luckyli we had really nice couchsurfing which made our experience nice. We went together to ecological centre and took a tiny tour on kayaks with his friends.Les mer

Catemaco

In Catemaco we just made a small stop during our way to Coatzacoalcos. This town is very famous for witchcraft, but because of the rain, we didn't see a single witch there.

This place we visited just because it was on the way. Through one guy we met Sandi, who was our great guide and showed us many beautiful waterfalls around. We went for a tour with her motorcycle. We also got to know her family and had dinner with them.Les mer

Veracruz

In Veracruz we celebrate the birthday of Simon. Enjoying beach time, eating out and just wondering around the town. Veracruz didn't feel like a place where we would come back, but it was nice to get some rest.
At some places you could already see some Christmas lights, but it's really weird for us as the weather is so hot, it doesn't feel like Christmas time at all.Les mer

Orizaba

Orizaba was for us surprisingly nice town. There are many places to visit and the people there are also super friendly as not many tourist goes there, it's kind of special for them to see some "strangers".
We went to eat very yummi burger 🍔 and explore the area around with lagunas and beautiful nature. 🏞️Les mer

Tepoztlán and Amatlán

In Tepoztlán we had couchsurfing at beautiful place, we stayed with Isaac whose job is growing psychidelic mushrooms. 🍄🍄
The town was really pretty with views on the mountains. 🗻With many tiny cute streets and coffee places.☕Les mer

Toluca and Nevada de Toluca

In small village close to Toluca we stayed with Eliška and Kevin. They showed us the town Malinalco where they lived before. The next day we went for a camping and hike to Nevada de Toluca (another volcano). Unfortunately I got sick and had to stay in the tent.Les mer

Julio took us to his summer house, where we could enjoy time by the pool, we went the birthday party, where we broke our first "piñata" and the next day we explore the city with his cousins.

México city

In Mexico city we spend almost a week, staying with our host Álvaro and his two friend Julio and Daniel, who became like our Mexican family.
Mexico city is super big and has many parts to explore. Simon got sick in his stomach and had to rest for 3 days.Les mer

Iztaccíhuatl

We managed to overcome our high record again. Iztaccihuatl volcano with high 5000m. The actuall peak is 5250 but as we didn't have equipment for the glacier, we didn't hike all the way up. It was amazing experince.
We slept over in refugio and started hiking at 4 a.m. to the peak, where we could watch the sunrise. It was super cold, but with sun we unfreezed again. From Iztaccihuatl we could see active volcano Popocatepetl.Les mer

Around Puebla are many beautiful towns ,one of them is Atlixco. It's a town full of colourful streets and there is also nice hill with great view. We visited there friends from Chile which we met in San Cristobal.Les mer

La Malinche

Our highest mountain so far - La Malinche 4461 m.
Hitchhiking to the entrance took as a loot of time and we were scared we will not have enough time to go all the way to the peak.
Luckily we had a lot of energy and managed to get all the way up in 3,5h. The view were stunning and weather was on our side. For the way back we join american group and could go with their bus back to Puebla.Les mer

In Puebla we had a great time, meeting many people, exploring small streets, tasting different food. Simon also got the opportunity to play at one caffe place bacause our couchsurfer is musician. We really love the city and we will spend more days here.Les mer

Hierve el Agua and Mitla

Hierve el Agua is very beautiful nature area where are waterpools where is even possible to swim. There is also beautiful view on the mountains. The way there was quite adventure driving through the mountains with the colectivo on the way back we asked some people on the parking space and they took us to Mitla.
There we explore the market and walked around the city. On the way back we saw the wides tree in the world with circumference of 54 meters.Les mer

We went to visit the city centre of Oaxaca, we tried local drink Tejate - made out of corn, cacao beans, mamey seeds, and special florecita de cacao. We also tasted some sweets and explore market with lot of handmade products.Les mer

Día de los muertos

We got the possibility to stay with local family, which we know through friend Taby, who stay with them for one year.
It was the best way how we could celebrate this days.
We could prepare the oltar "ofrenda" for their daughter who died 3 years ago. We could try many different dishes, dance on the square with costumes, bring part of the meal to other neighbors and family members and in the end have a party on the graveyard.
It's a very nice tradition and it's nice that people remember those who die with a lot of joy and take it as a time reunite with a family and close friends.Les mer

Way to Oaxaca

Way from Puerto Escondido to Oaxaca is with many curves. It's just 250km but you need 7 hours by car. As we hitchhiked we needed little bit more time. Passing many villages we could see people preparing for Día de Los Muertos.Les mer

For the weekend we went to Puerto Escondido - the surfers paradise. We went to the local market and different beaches. On Sunday we went to the church where we met really nice people and later we played volleyball with them on the beach.Les mer

Workaway in Zipolite

Last two weeks we spend in beautiful place in the hills close from Zipolite. We were doing some bioconstructions. We had amazing time with the girls.
At the weekends we visited villages Zipolite and Mazunte, where we could enjoy sea and great food. Both of the villages had very hippie vibes. On Zipolite is the only nudist beach in whole Mexico :D.Les mer
