Had a lovely time with Lucy on our days off.
We took Bennie for a walk in Island Bay 🐕 and had a coffee in a cute coffee shop ☕

The Residence Pub Quiz

We managed to do three pub quizzes (19/02, 26/02 and 04/03) at The Residence on Courtenay Place. We came 8th, 5th and 6th out of approx. 12 teams every time.

Escarpment Track

We did the Escarpment Track on the Kapiti Coast. It was a 10km walk from Paekakariki to Pukerua Bay with great views. We could even see the South Island 🌴
Masterton I

Cape Palliser Lighthouse

We visited Cape Palliser Lighthouse and walked the 220 steps up for a lovely view of the bay.

Seal colony at Cape Palliser 🦀
We found a rock pool which looked like it was a seal pup nursery. They were really playful and jumping around like dolphins.

Ferry to the South Island

We took the Bluebridge Ferry from Wellington on the North Island to Picton on the South Island. It took us 3.5 hours and the sea was quite rough 🌊

Snout Track

While hiking the Snout Track we got a good view at the Marlborough Sounds.
Double Bay

Cullen Point

Before a quick stop in Havelock, while being on the Queen Charlotte Drive, we stopped at the Cullen Point Lookout.
Pelorus Bridge

Film set from the Hobbit Movies where the Hobbits escape from the Elven Kingdom.
We went for a nice walk. There was a swing bridge and Jake even went swimming.
Nelson

We got to Nelson on a beautiful hot day and went to check out the Christ Curch Cathedral and the Queen's Gardens. We also hiked to the Centre of New Zealand where we met our buddy Camillo from Trekもっと詳しく
Motueka

We headed over to Motueka, just before the start of the Abel Tasman walking track. We visited an old ship wreck, the Janie Seddon, before heading to our camping spot for the evening.

Abel Tasman Part 1

We decided to do a day hike in the Abel Tasman National Park. We took a water taxi to Bark Bay which is nearly half way of the whole track and walked 28km to the official start.

We had lunch at an awesome lookout point and then stopped for a swim at Akersten Bay. The water was fantastic.

Split Apple Rock

Finished off the day with a swim at the Split Apple Rock. Pretty awesome and a nice way to cool our feet off!
Te Waikoropupū Springs

The Waikoropupū Springs are the largest freshwater springs in New Zealand and contain some of the clearest water ever measured. The visibility is 63m.
Wharariki Beach

We very nearly decided not to come to this beach, until a friend of ours told us we definitely should go. And we're so glad we did. Wharariki Beach is one of the nicest beaches we have seen here inもっと詳しく
Farewell Spit

Farewell Spit stretches 34km long, making it one of the longest natural sandspits in the world. We went for a long walk here. The north and south sides of the spit looked quite different.

Payne's Ford

Payne's Ford is one of New Zealand's most popular climbing spots. We couldn't go climbing as Isi couldn't put her shoes on because of blisters from the Abel Tasman track. But we still wanted to have aもっと詳しく
Rawhiti Cave

The walk to this limestone cave was quite rough and steep but definitely worth it. The cave's entrance is one of the largest cave entrances in New Zealand with an opening of about 40 metres wide andもっと詳しく
