  • Sapa

    26 mars, Vietnam ⋅ 🌙 15 °C

It’s called the city in the fog and It lives up to that damn name, fog rolls in every night so you look like you’re in a WW1 movie and every day is overcast. Rating Sapa 7/10 it was good and the trekking was super cool but like, it’s not essential. Moana cafe is literally just instagram pics and cat cat village is really cool to go and see and explore a little bit but oh my god if I see one more girl in these like HUGE Victorian dresses live-streaming or just there for the gram I’m going to lose my mind. Trekking was the highlight, amazing Homestay 20km walk over 2 days through villages which had their own languages and bamboo forests was cool.
Off to Ninh Binh and then phong nha. Only like 4 more weeks in Asia now. Kinda crazy it’s been like 38 days since I left. I think there’s 70 ish to go i don’t even know.

    Later skaters

Also I’ve spent too much time with caleigh I called chips french fries yesterday.

  • Bangkok

    15 mars, Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 34 °C

So got to bangkok 3 nights ago after a 12 hour travel day from Koh Tao which honestly wasn’t even bad because the bus was really comfy

Got to the hotel ( I know fancy ) and got some much needed rest. Spent the next couple days exploring Bangkok with Caleigh!

Been all over Bangkok at this point and we are a little bit shattered so it’s a chill afternoon today.

Been too, watt pho ( Big golden Buddha)

Went to a rooftop sunset bar which was pretty cool although 200 baht for a beer is a robbery

Went to china town which was pretty cool, 6/10

And we went on a bar crawl which was fun although our friend lost her shoes and was walking barefoot through khao san road.

    Day 2

Got up, went to Lumphini park and saw some huge monitor lizards

Then we went on a bicycle tour which was probably the highlight of Bangkok was really fun and in a very untouristy bit

Finally we went to the Rajadamnern stadium and watched a full Muay Thai fight night. Very cool very entertaining!

    Collapsed and went to sleep

    Day 3

Woke up, went to a ‘floating’ market inside a massive market indoors because we couldn’t be bothered getting on a 2 hour taxi. The market was awesome to be fair definitely the right call because there was SO much to eat.

And now we are chilling on the rooftop pool

Off to Vietnam tomorrow and Caleigh is following the day after.

    See yall later!

  • Where have I been

    12 mars, Thailand ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

Well it’s been a interesting two weeks. So here’s a little rundown

First of all why has there been no update in two weeks? Food poisoning and salt water.

Soo, phones broke this is a different one hence why it’s taken forever for an update. It got saltwater in it big old disaster but its cool it’s not like I had 5000 odd photos on there.

    Anyway

So the photos from the last couple week are what I’ve managed to cobble together from friends

So left krabi went to khao sok, activities were a solid 5 but the views were the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen ( bar the whale shark )
I stayed on a floating bungalow for one night and a night in khao sok town, there isn’t that much to do in khao sok town soo I slept literally all day. Emily Dixon would be proud.

After khao sok I endured a truly truly terrible experience. The sleeper ferry to Koh phangan .
Two hour van to surat thank with two French Canadian girls I’ve met called flo and melo, best names I’ve ever heard. Got to surat Thani and found out ferry wasn’t for another like 4 hours. So I wandered around which was cool because it wasn’t a tourist place at all like it’s just a city which was interesting to see. Got on the sleeper ferry and I hit a new low I previously thought unachievable. It was like, honestly just watch the video. Got to Koh phangan. Did some yoga which actually was hard work and I think I lost all my social standing. Then went out and quickly realised. Koh Phangan is ass
If you want to get anywhere you have to be able to drive a moped now this combined with the fact that I wasn’t at a very social hostel meant getting around was very hard. Now I then found out my friends Tom Dylan and their group, the same ones from the ao nang photos were on the island so we arranged to meet up at this like sunset bar place which to be fair was nice. To get there was about 1000 baht 25 pounds for a taxi since I wasn’t with them at that point. Am I hell paying that so I ran 5km in 30*c. Was not fun. Then we went to like this jungle party, was ridiculously expensive and music was crap. Only redeeming factor was the 711 paint we all got. Day two on Koh phangan and it was a stinker. In short met up with beccs and selina ( two other friends) and went to the full moon party with them. Now we got to the party about 11.30 and at midnight it was my birthday so midnight comes around and I start feeling suspiciously ill so I make a bee line for the car park and start throwing up behind a bike. My first act as a 19 year old was to get food poisoning and I got it badddd I spent a hour in that car park so everyone probably thought I’d had way too much to drink but no that was so dodgy chicken. Managed to drag myself into a bike and get back to my hostel. But the fun didn’t stop there ! So the next 5 ish hours it was just constant. What a birthday hey

So at this point I want to get the hell of Koh phangan so I get on the ferry the next day with food poisoning and make it too Koh Tao. And immediately everything was better. The vibes were amazing now I’m still gathering the photos from the first few days on Koh Tao but I basically fell asleep in a hammock at a few point and got savaged by bugs. And did crap in a beer pong tournament. Second day did a snorkelling tour of the island which was lit saw some turtles. Came back and the hostel had live music on and they were unreal. I kid you not the guy on guitar did the whole freedbird solo bit. Everyone went nuts. Then I moved hostel to the accomadation I had booked with my dive school got there and there was a large smear of brown allll across the bed. My theory is someone crapped in it and they just didn’t want to clean it up. So I did not stay there, went to another hostel and stayed in a 14 person curtainless dorm because that’s all that was available. Which for some reason everyone in the room kept getting with each other . I’d wake up to go diving before everyone and they’d all be cuddled up together like guys, there’s not even a curtain chill out. Oh yeah diving, 10/10 coolest thing ever I have no notes. I’m certified now I saw a pufferfhish stingray turtle barracuda flatworm giant groupers batfish like it was awesome. And the big one a whale shark. I lost my shit when It came out of nowhere underwater I was so so happy greatest moment ever . Swam with it for about 15 minutes and we didn’t have to move because we caught it whilst it was eating so it was just doing a figure of 8 around where we were. Oh yeah and my diving instructor Lila’s called me 5% the whole time because I got 5% wrong on the test and it was the lowest score. Love him really. I did the biggest pub crawl in Asia got too like one and sacked it off to go have drinks with him and the other diving instructor’s and just talk about dive sites, it’s crazy how much they all love their job. I probably did some other stuff but honestly I can’t remember. Did go to a abondened hotel though which took like 3 hours hiking just me and wilhelm.

Alright well I’m tired of writing and hopefully my parents will stop pestering me now.

    Alright in a bit

Genuinely 10/10 not much to say apart from I had the best time here I met the best people the nught market was Insane its so beautiful the pub crawl was a blast, the hostel was great. Just perfect. First day was Tiger temple a 300M climb to a Big gold buddha, second day was the island awesomeness tour, shit was infact awesome, there was great karoke on the boat. Third days night market railay beach and kayaking. Although I didnt really go to the beach. I went on a trek through the jungle which involved alot of rock climbing and absailing in my flippy flops. 10/10. Kayaking was great marla can do a sick backflip to be fair. And the last day was Hong island. Bit underwhelming but still a much needed more relaxed day and the night out at the end was amazing made loads of friends Icluding a girl called Caleigh who was awesome and stupidly good at beer pong.Läs mer

  • Im Back

    23 februari, Thailand ⋅ ⛅ 27 °C

Last few days have been interesting...
    So heres a quick recap

Got to the island barely on a boat that I thought was going to pull a titanic replication

Made it to the hostel, which im not going to lie is insane socially but also Insane in terms of the fact your bed is basically inside a club.

Within 10 minutes I was on a longtail to Nui beach which was awesome because the driver had a pet monkey

Next day, rented a kayak amd went halfway round the island getting very sunburnt because I was kayaking for about 4 hours and consistently dodging ferries

That night I went to the reggae bar ( boxing bar ) which was pretty lit. No mum I didnt have a go.

Last day and I decided it would be a good idea to trek into the STICKS of this island which meant I got sunburnt again because hiking in 35c isn't a great idea

Lastly went on a boat party and visited maya bay which resulted in the worst hangover I have had in a very, very long time.

    Alright see yall later
