    Culture! Richard II

    August 7, 2015 in England ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Highlight of the day was going to see Richard II performed in Shakespeare's Globe theatre! The theatre was built by Shakespeare's playing company in 1599, burned down in 1613, rebuilt in 1614 and demolished in 1644. Finally the original was faithfully reconstructed and opened in 1997. Thanks for arranging it, Anita!
Happened across Leadenhall Market, where seemingly all the high powered finance people in business suits come for a beer at noon.
Also met up with Vel and wandered around a bit. Landmarks everywhere! Millennium Bridge, St Paul's Cathedral, Tower Bridge (no pic). Tate Modern was too modern for me - I find it difficult to appreciate monochrome paintings.
