    Last Day

    December 16, 2016 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Today was already my last day. It's unbelievable how fast it's over.
Really nice weather. I went to Orere today because from here it's just one hour to the Airport, but I am still out in nature, with a beautiful beach outside the camping area. I took a long walk on the beach.
Last night in a tent and I can say, I am really looking forward to sleep in my bed again 😉
Even though I absolutely didn't have a problem with sleeping in a tent!!

    Hot Water Beach

    December 14, 2016 in New Zealand ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

This beach is something really special. During low tide, you can dig yourself your own private pool on some parts of the beach, where warm water is coming out from the ground. Well closed to the quell it's actually extremely hot water, so it's quite imported where you build your pool. We found a perfect place and after a while, we got it really nice and lovely warm. We spent around 2 hours in our pool! 😉Read more

    Coromandal Half Island

    December 13, 2016 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌙 14 °C

Today we were leaving Tauranga and went to the Hot Water Beach!
Some smaller Stops on the way. Beautiful beaches and amazing Lookouts!
Weather is finally really good again! No rain anymore at all, just still a little bit windy! But I think this night I don't need to worry about flying away with my tent like the last nights 🙈Read more

    Hobbiton Movie Tours

    December 12, 2016 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌙 14 °C

Today we went to Matamata to visit the Hobbiton Movie Set!
We were extra getting up early to be there for the first tour, because many people told us before, that it's too full later! And that was a great tip! So we had a small group, compared to the others we saw and it's much nicer like this!
Even the weather was on our side today.
And how lovely Hobbiton is! Just to wait for the Hobbits to come out of their houses.

    Rotorua Maori Culture Performamce

    December 11, 2016 in New Zealand ⋅ 🌙 14 °C

Today it was time to go to a Maori Village and to watch their culture performance. There are actually over 20 families living in this village! The Tour quite explained a lot about their way of life and how they are using all the geothermal energy for cooking, taking a bath etc.
It was really interesting, especially the famous "Haka" dance!Read more

    Geothermal Walks

    December 10, 2016 in New Zealand ⋅ ☀️ 16 °C

Two geothermal walks were also on my list today.
It's hard to describe these areas.
It's unbelievable how many plants are actually growing in these areas. It's partly over 100 degrees warm water/mud or gas coming out from the ground.
It didn't smell as bad as I was expecting it at least! 😉
