    28. september 2022, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

Day 24, a rest day in Perth, found a place I’ve wanted to visit for awhile (and just around the corner),some old haunts and a few places I couldn’t get near due to crowds lol.
    1. The corner Peter Brock died on and a little memorial
    2. Perth Harley for more Poker chips
    3. Little creatures brewery in Fremantle
    4. The Bon Scott statue just up the road from the brewery
However I couldn’t get near the Maritime museum (I guess the holiday crowds don’t help. Then I juist enjoyed a little ride around Perth
Nice easy day before we set of again tomorrow 😎

  • Day 26 Busselton to Albany

    30. september 2022, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

WOW, the roads ara amazing! However things happen that are beyond explaining
Anyone who knows me understands me! Today I turned off route for lunch which endend up as a 60km detour! I stopped once to confirm John was okay and found a park to sit in for lunch. A young man and his mum where driving a remote control car in the park and after it broke and they where headed out we had a conversation! He has aspirations to go into a field of work like I do and I spent about an hour talking career lines! I was put where I needed to be to help! We then found our abode for the night and went out for dinner with a past work mate and his wife - incredible day for me!Les mer

  • Day 27 Albany to Esperance

    1. oktober 2022, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 18 °C

Not much sleep, the other guests were quite noisy over night, up early to grab a coffee and do a little sight seeing before leaving. Nothing opens early so we looked at some sights before coffee with a plan to see more after!! Best laid plans right, John had a broken bracket on his exhaust. What a joy to discover a Harley dealer in Albany!! But it opens in Half an hour 😔 Nope, they opened early for us and helped us with parts. John has V&H slip ons but we found a genuine bracket we could make work. Problem solved and we could head off! Thank you Sharelle and all the team at Great Southern Motorcycles you are number 1 ☺️🏍🏍🇦🇺🚒Les mer

  • Day 28 Esperance to Cocklebiddy

    2. oktober 2022, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Day 28, WOW I can’t believe it’s almost done! Today was the run to Cocklebiddy from Esperance, some 670ish K’s after detours! Weather has mostly been kind but cold - really cold. Wet weather gear has helped keep us warm and dry for the few spots of light rain we had… much better than the forecast. Big run to Ceduna SA tomorrowLes mer

  • Day 30 Ceduna to Hahndorf

    4. oktober 2022, Australia ⋅ 🌧 16 °C

Today is a big one! 809k’s to smash out and no guarantees the weather will hold…. We set off at 7am Adelaide time (which is very early for those of us who’ve just acclimatised to Perth time lmao) a fuel top up in Ceduna and Kimba will be our next stop! Half way point across the continent. A few pictures with the big Galah (John stayed out to avoid confusion lol) and off to Port Pirie for the next top up! We have chased the rain all day and stayed dry! Hahndorf at 5pm here’s to our second last night on the road 🥃🥃🎉🎉Les mer

  • Day 31 Hahndorf to Haddon

    5. oktober 2022, Australia ⋅ 🌧 12 °C

A lazy start and breakfast in Hahndorf, fuel in Tailem Bend and on to Boarder town for a break. Just clocked over 40747k’s which marks 16000k’s from District 8 HQ in a month! WOW, we’ve been on the road that long. Got away dry but smashed by rain most of the day and had a scare when the back end broke free passing a caravan. Stayed with my brother last night (thank you Cassy and Leon for the bed and dinner ❤️)Les mer

  • Day 32 Haddon to Home

    6. oktober 2022, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 15 °C

Day 32, ahead of schedule we’ve made it all the way around Australia! Over 16000k’s, some dramas, some awesome catch ups with friends, many new friends and additions to the motorbike riding family. We’ve found some fantastic service centres that make what we have at home look even more woeful. It’s been wet, then clear, then clear and hot, hotter and then bloody hot!!! Then it was wet again! We got smashed coming across the bottom of the country in SA and into Vic, but Melbourne turned on an awesome day to finish on.
Some learnings are: whom your friends are will surprise you! Whom you can count on in times of true need will surprise you! How those you thought would always be there to support you and be there will so quickly turn and try to derail what you are doing out of pure spite when they can’t have it their way and the three year old style dummy spit was worth videoing OMG.
This trip has been a roller coaster of emotion, pain, joy and achievement that I will never forget!! Thank you John for being my voice of reason, wisdom and my mentor! You made OUR adventure better than great
