Footloose and fancy-free

We are homeless. And intend to be strays - not waifs! - for at least a month. We are going to South East Asia, with no more explicit plan than to arrive tomorrow Malaysia, rest there for a few days, and see what's what. That's freedom! En savoir plus

    Thursday 30th January, Kuala Lumpur

    One heck of a flight - delays, blah blah - with the usual long-haul distracting pleasure of choosing to view a film I have had on my 'list' for a while, namely Downton Abbey's GRAND FINALE. And it feels not at all inappropriate to show these few screenshots I took of the end of the film. The grand Lord and Lady Thingummy departing from their beloved family pile - the repository of memories happy and sad (but mainly happy) - waving to all-and-sundry left behind, and heading off hand-in-hand to their future.
    So it is indeed with me, with us.
    KL is pretty sticky even towards midnight, but the aircon is a pleasant temperature, not at all noisy, and our 22nd floor apartment just fine. Easy number to remember! We decided to head into the centre for some 'vibe' and to shake a leg - and come back fairly dazed a couple of hours later ready to crash. Our adventure has well and truly begun    En savoir plus

    Landed in Malaysia, after a delayed but restful night, only to find they are voracious time-gobblers here and it's evening already! I hope our stay won't race past this fast every day.
    I watched Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale on the flight. Don't you think Lord and Lady Thingummy have a lot in common with us? They too left the beloved family home with happy-heavy hearts, waved goodbye to those they love and walked away hand in hand to their new lifeEn savoir plus
