And so our journey begins 😁. After an eventful morning, and saying au revoir and Tschüss to friends and family, Tim, and I, and Beryl of course set off for the three or so hour drive to Dover. This took a little (!) longer than planned due to issues on the road, and stopping for a rather lush and unexpected carvery in Worthing.
On arrival in Dover, Tim performed some essential checks on Beryl. I, on the other hand thought I'd be a good samaritan and see if I could find someone who would appreciate the 12oz rump steak 🥩 that I suddenly remembered was still in our freezer and couldn't be taken into France. I approached a guy who had just changed a tyre on his car. Once he realised I wasn't a weirdo who was trying to poison him he seemed impressed and thanked me profusely.Read more
