A political stop in New Hampshire

    12 de agosto de 2016, Estados Unidos ⋅ ⛅ 34 °C

Instead of taking the quickest route to Boston we took advantage of having a car and detoured through Concord, New Hampshire - the state capital and home to the oldest continuously used state legislature in the US. A brilliantly helpful visitors centre furnished us with lots of info and we were able to tour the chambers as well as the hall of flags which showcased a wealth of original civil war flags. Being traditionally the first primary state (and apparently the first to declare independence) New Hampshire punches above it's weight politically. This means it is important for presidential candidates to visit, and we saw the Secretary of State's office where all the photo ops take place, as well as their wall of memorabilia. Traffic allowing, we're hoping to visit Lexington and Concord, Massachusetts now, both important Revolutionary sites.Leer más
