    24 hours of movement

    September 6 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 19 °C

Feeling nervous and tired I woke before my alarm. Wanting to get going so I wasn't late, always the worry that I will be late, I'm never late, well very rarely. But I still worry.
I had 24 hours of travel a head and so much could get messed up.
Flew with United Airlines, you realise that this isn't a great idea, a few things that were annoying and stupid. Lets count them, 1- couldn't check in online, ended up queuing for ages (annoying). 2- They never asked about food, so no vegan food for me on the flight (pissed off). 3- Had to pick up my own luggage when transferring, and walk around the corner with them and give them to this one guy who scan the barcode and shouted the destination (Stupid, so stupid). 4- Second flight was so rough I felt sick the whole way (annoying). 5- The flight was so rough they couldn't serve food (so hungry).
Although there were loads of issues, there was so many lovely people who I met, from the lady in the queue at check in who was going to New York, to the older guy who I sat next to and had a vegan meal he didn't want and gave it to me so I could eat.
Also met lovely Irish girl who my transfer was with, Siobhan was so nice and we said we would hang out tomorrow. Felt so much better for knowing I had met someone.
Checked in and went to my room, so tired and have been moving for 24 hours, I finally lay down and could not sleep. Why oh why won't you just fall asleep!!!

Park, ruins, statues and the tram.

    February 12 in Portugal ⋅ ☀️ 13 °C

Feeling drained from the day before, more of a chilled day planned. We started the walked up the steepest street I could find. We all need a sit down after that.
Saw the ruins of a lovely church and then took one of the old trams across Lisbon.
The old tram was lovely, apart from when it stopped for no apparent reason for 25 minutes, while we stood roasting inside.
Once off we relaxed in the park and saw the war memorial.
Another difficult lunch hunt, ended with a sandwich from Starbucks, I hated myself while I ate my lunch.
Then we took the bus back to the hotel, had another indian dinner before early bed.

Down to hell and up to heaven

    February 11 in Portugal ⋅ ☀️ 11 °C

Early morning and day trip to Sinta and palaces.
The people on the tour were lovely and had interesting talks with the guide.
Walked down into hell and then hiked up to a palace which was bright yellow, clearly designed with me in mind.

    Birthday fun

    February 10 in Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Morning of searching for food, being vegan is hard work.
Then walked up to the castle, it was slow going and took much longer with the rents in toe.
Once at the top got some amazing photos and views.
Went out for dinner and when your Indians abroad you eat out at... Indian resturants.

    Flight out

    February 9 in Portugal ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

    Flying with Ryanair
    Always leads to some issues
    Bags to big,
    Bags to small
All relived with bags of cash.

    We read the small print
And were clear what to bring.

    Once on broad
    Stupid women with scowling face
    Sit down beside me
I had to contain my annoyance
    At her behaviour
    I was poilte and nice
And told her what she believed was
    Dumb as f**k.

    We arrived
    Taxi trip later

Art hotel was just my speed
    vintage phone in repection
    And bamboo seats

    Need food
    But not this food
Salad minus the meat, fish and creamy sauce.
Meant few salad leaves with fruit on top
To tired to go anywhere else
    I drank the free wine
And eat mains and dessert in one mouthful.

    To bed
    Feeling not quite
    So right.
