Decided to put our luggage and hoof it over to Cafe 44 for lunch. Not our best move. Arrived with soaked feet from melting snow and sleet, but the view and warm soup made up for it.
Woke up to this, this morning. Good thing folks here know how to handle snow, cause we’re headed to Charlottesville this afternoon.
Cocktails and dinner a few mere blocks from our apartment. Too much to see at Mount Vernon to take time to eat.
Toured the mansion, outbuildings and the grounds. Even had a chance to chat with young Martha Washington. Sadly, we were too early to see George’s Christmas camel. Would love to return for that andEn savoir plus
After a quick trip to the Safeway 3 blocks from our apartment, we headed out for our Wilson Nicoll Memorial happy hour. Discounted drinks and bar bites that would bring a tear to a Scot’s eye.
