In 2018, Xavier Frémin decided to expand the family farm and start beekeeping in order to improve the pollination of his crops. He began with just one hive, but has now expanded to 350 hives. As the apiary grew, his wife Charlotte joined him in running the business. In addition to honey, they produce flours (wheat, corn, chickpeas), oils (rapeseed, sunflower), and pasta. They also host an educational center where they instruct students, tourists, and other farm visitors on the practice of beekeeping.

Recently, Xavier was hired by French president, Emmanuel Macron, to manage the beekeeping at the Palace Elysée.

  • Collégiale Notre-Dame de Mantes-la-Jolie

    2023年10月26日, フランス ⋅ 🌧 57 °F

At the time of its construction in the 12th-13th century, the Collegiate Church in Mantes-la-Jolie reflected the power of the French royalty against the Norman Dukes. The church is famous for its striking resemblance to Notre-Dame de Paris, although it is of a much smaller scale. It was built during the same timeframe as its more famous counterpart and, although not confirmed, historians believe the two used the same architects and craftsmen.

It is said that the town got its name because King Henri IV wrote to Gabrielle d’Estrées, his mistress, “I come to Mantes, my Pretty,” and so it stuck as Mantes-la-Jolie.
