  • GAUSTATOPPEN

    August 13, 2025 in Norway ⋅ ⛅ 11 °C

Started off in a mystical atmosphere and wisps of fog. Alone at the summit... taking the ridge walk with caution in these conditions... Lucky at the summit... several windows opened and I kept getting glimpses of this beautiful surroundings. Unfortunately, the view of the legendary Handangervidda was blocked and the 1/6 of Norway that is supposed to be visible from Gaustatoppen in good weather was not there today either... but pure mysticism and the summit for me... On the way back it cleared up and slowly more people arrived... at the Gaustatoppen Tourist hut there was a lot more activity, as you can get there by train and for most people that's it after a photo....Read more

  • KJERAGBOLTEN

    August 16, 2025 in Norway ⋅ ⛅ 9 °C

The real highlight was the '2nd Preikestolen,' which I named because the plateau looked similar from a distance...and the best part is, everyone just wants to take a photo with the rock and then go back down...It took a few zigzag runs to get to the front, but it was amazing. I was completely alone there...some crazy guy even strung a slackline over the precipice...I would have loved to see that walk...

  • PREIKESTOLEN

    August 18, 2025 in Norway ⋅ 🌙 12 °C

What an experience💯Points and more... At first, I was still wondering whether I should even do the Preikestolen (pulpit rock)... crowded touristy places aren't really my thing. But with the right timing, you can escape the crowds...luckily😀👍❤️ After a starry night⭐️, countless shooting stars, and little sleep - because it was just so incredibly beautiful... I had the Preikestolen (pulpit rock) at my feet, kept looking down during the night, and felt so part of everything, an indescribable feeling. I'm so glad I spontaneously brought my sleeping bag and was very lucky that it was completely windless, and apart from the immense humidity, everything was perfect.

In the morning, I went down to the Preikestolen plateau, and since it was still relatively quiet, I took photos from every angle, and some nice visitors took photos of me too... My favorite position was sitting at the front corner... I know, many people's hair stands on end in fear... for me, it means freedom, and nowhere do I feel it more than over a precipice... I simply love it❤️🤩... After a while, I returned to my overnight spot and finally had some breakfast, and my sleeping bag was still not completely dry... chilled out a bit... and started the descent around 1:00 PM. I met two nice Americans, and so the descent was done in no time... Unfortunately, the cloud cover didn't disappear, but I found it to be a special atmosphere. Those who arrived later were unlucky...no visibility, everything was clouded over...and when I got to the car, it was 7-8 degrees cooler... Conclusion...even tourist destinations can surprise you👍👍👍

  • Overnight Spot Stavanger

    August 18, 2025 in Norway ⋅ 🌙 14 °C

Great overnight spot with a small jetty for swimming in the sea...just outside Stavanger. I stayed here for two nights and explored Stavanger... The train is a great way to get into the city, saving you the hassle of searching for a parking space and paying the city center toll.

  • STAVANGER... by day

    August 19, 2025 in Norway ⋅ ☀️ 17 °C

Stavanger by Day..... At first, I wasn't so enthusiastic because the large cruise ship bunker and the crowds of tourists dampened my spirits. If you venture off the beaten track, Stavanger has a remarkable creative side, with artists, musicians, and large centers with co-working spaces... I was particularly impressed by the Geoparc (art made from trash) and the variety of street art (a 2018 project). There's a separate post about the street art... I also had the best burger I've ever had here and a fantastic salmon smokehouse...also a separate post here 😀Read more

  • HIMAKÅNÅ

    August 21, 2025 in Norway ⋅ 🌬 14 °C

    HIMAKÅNÅ
....a short, easy hike, it starts off rather boringly on a wide hiking trail and then turns into a path at the top... Besides Himakånå, there are other rocky outcrops right next to it, so I had to go to the information board to find the right one... The one next to it was at least as beautiful, though. 🤣 The legend of the giantess who turned to stone when the bell of the church rang... you'll find it in the middle of the pics. (definitely read it!) ...followed by a photo of the other rocky outcrop....⛰️🌞Read more

  • Vines (Weinreben) in Hebnes

    August 22, 2025 in Norway ⋅ ☀️ 10 °C

In Hebnes, where I left the ferry (coming from Nedstrand), there was suddenly a field full of grapes...I thought I was in another movie...but it stayed just that one field...I wonder if the grapes are getting enough warmth? Perhaps a test object?
