Los geht‘s

Heute geht es endlich los. Die Hoffnung dass wir den Camper schon am Vormittag bekommen, hat sich leider nicht erfüllt. Aber wir sind beim Auto einräumen, als der Anruf kommt. Einweisung und Fahrzeugübernahme um 13 Uhr in Obergrafendorf.

Das schaffen wir locker nach einem schnellen Mittagessen.

Doch die Übernahme plus das Verstauen unseres Gepäcks für die nächsten 4 Wochen dauert etwas länger als geplant. Es ist fast 16 Uhr als wir vom Parkplatz vorsichtig auf die Straße rollen. An die 7 Meter Länge müssen wir uns erst noch gewöhnen. Auch die 2,3 Meter Breite und 3 Meter Höhe machen den Camper ziemlich schwerfällig.

Aufgrund der fortgeschrittenen Stunde kommen wir auch nicht mehr soweit wie ursprünglich geplant. Gegen 18 Uhr biegen wir auf einen netten Campingplatz direkt am Westufer des Chiemsees ein. Nachdem mich die Platzwartin zurechtgewiesen hat, weil ich nicht in der für den Check In vorgesehenen Parkbucht halte, bekommen wir einen ruhigen Stellplatz zugewiesen. Hier werden wir von einem zutraulichen Entenpärchen begrüßt, das den restlichen Abend nicht mehr von unserer Seite weicht. 😂🫶🏻

We are travelling around the Bavaria area killing time really until we get to Salzburg for maybe a three night stay and a guided tour of the City, and an improving weather situation. Today we are at Lake Chiemsee and it’s a day for doing nothing. Attempted a cycle and got soaked. But we are in Bavaria and the scenery is amazing.

Bought this at a duty free shop on the Austrian border, last stop on the way out of the Czech Republic. Figure to keep my country streak going (heck, I haven't bought an Austrian bottle! mental note!!).

This comes in at 4.98 euro, so 8.81 AUD on the price meter.

Never heard of the variety - Zweigelt?

So what might we be in for.

Let's give it a go.

It's short, no lingering length, and the flavours are light. Main importance for such a wine though, it's smooth. So fits the easy quaff tag okay. It's on price par with the Hungarian Pinot, though this is more gentle and hasn't the distinguishable flavours the Pinot had. If the Pinot is easy drinking, this is easier drinking, with a red wine character and little more.

הדרך במטוס הייתה ארוכה ומלאה בילדים וחרדים שמדברים בקול רם.
והאטמים הצילו אותי פעם נוספת
שהגענו לשדה בוינה היינו צריכים להחתים את הדרכון והיה תור ארוך, הלכתי לשירותים שנמצאים מקדימה בתור ובעצם שיצאתי נכנסתי בטבעיות לתור עם המחשבה שאני אחת לבד ובמי אני פוגעת במעשה שלי.
התור היה עוד ארוך וכל הסללומים אני ממשיכה לחשוב על זה, וככל שזה מתקדם אני מתחילה לחשוב שהזרם דוחף אותי להמשיך איתו ולא להתנגד. ממש רגע מהאישה שאומרת לך לך לפה לך לשם יצאתי מהתור והלכתי לסופו אחרי עוד הרבה אנשים שכבר הספיקו להצטרף מטיסות אחרות.
מה אני באה להגיד
שקודם כל אני אהבלה
וזה בסדר
לפעמים המחשבה אגואיסטית
ובאמת בגלוי לא ממש פגעתי במישהו
אבל בסמוי אני פוגעת במי שאני רוצה להיות
אישה ישרה וטובה שמחכה את התור למרות שכבר כואב לה הבירכיים והיא בכלל לא התחילה את הטרק עדיין חחח

39. Bad Tölz - Oberaudorf

Today we had to wait until 2.00pm to use the showers at the swimming pool, so we had a lazy morning deciding on whether to take the van in to a local Citreon garage.. After seeking lots of advice (thanks, Leigh), we decided to leave it as the van is running fine now, with no fault codes showing. We therefore carried on driving the Alpine route after having our shower. The drive was very fun, we weaved in and out of Austria which was cool. We also passed some lovely lakes & towns whilst driving some awesome mountain roads.

We did a big mountain pass and went over 1200mtrs again, mad that this is close to height of Ben Nevis. Enroute we stopped at a very scenic waterfall and walked down to a viewpoint to view it looking up. This was really nice but sketchy taking Maddy as she throws herself down the steps...

Afterwards we headed along a small mountain road to our next parkup, probably the most scenic one yet, with huge mountains the one direction, surrounded by the foothills around us and a big fishing lake. We predict only 1 day left on our Alpine route- we recommend this as its been super scenic and at times has put the swiss alps to shame!Read more
