today it's x-mas eve, so first of all: merry x-mas to everybody! 🎄✨🎉🎁
but today we also met with my best friend from school - we often meet around x-mas when everybody comes home. normally we have no cars when we're here since we arrive by train or plane. but this time we're here with the bus, so we took the chance for a nice tour around the mountains. in some small villages you can find coffees or restaurants. so what we did is simply driving around, stopping for tea or food, enjoying the landscape and sight.Read more

  • Schluchsee, Germany

    December 25, 2018 in Germany ⋅ -1 °C

two sunsets a day, keep the doctor away but first some info about the schluchsee... it is a reservoir lake southeast of the titisee in the black forest near freiburg. with its height of 930 metres above sea level, it's the highest reservoir in germany and also the largest lake in the black forest. we wanted to enjoy the sunset 🌄 here and since two sunsets a day, keep the doctor away we decided to do so - and this is how you can do it: right after you've watched the sun disappearing behind the mountains ⛰️ at the schluchsee, you jump into the car 🚙 and drive direction bernau. when you've passed the hilltop stop at the nice bench there and enjoy you second sunset 🌄 with a nice cup of tea 🍵 or our good glass of wine 🍷.Read more

  • Inversion

    December 25, 2018 in Germany ⋅ -1 °C

i love ❤️ inversion in the mountains... you're sitting around in the valley, weather is cloudy, sometimes rainy - all in all some kind of depressive feeling. if it's inversion weather you simply jump on your bike, scooter or car and drive up the mountains over the boundary layer. there you have clear air, sunshine and a wonderful view on top of the clouds. because the inversion forms clouds at low level beneath clear skies.
so what is an inversion? in meteorology, an inversion is a deviation from the normal change of an atmospheric property with altitude. it almost always refers to an inversion of the air temperature lapse rate, in which case it is called a temperature inversion. normally, air temperature decreases with an increase in altitude, but during an inversion warmer air is held above cooler air.
so the clouds stay in the valley 😁.

  • Schoggi, Basel, Switzerland

    December 29, 2018 in Switzerland ⋅ 0 °C

swiss chocolate is a protected term for chocolate that is made in switzerland. the swiss german expression for chocolate is schoggi, and not schocki, as many germans wickedly say. chocolate is one of the most frequently associated products around the world with switzerland; swiss confisserie is, so to speak, world-famous. chocolate came to europe from america in the course of the 16th century. in the 17th century at the latest, it became known and produced in switzerland. from the second half of the 19th century the reputation of swiss chocolate began to spread abroad.
in short: i'm born here, thus i love ❤️ swiss schoggi and try to avoid eating this other brown stuff made in other countries...
