Retired IT professional, now a pecan farmer. I love the Lord, my wife, my family and my dogs, but not always in that order.

    Back to where we began

    November 19, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 24 °C

Back to where the train trip began and where we left our car. It was still there. Yay!
Earlene is not doing well. Called her other daughter, the nurse, and she believes one of her medications is the issue.
The trip to Longview took 5 1/2 hours.
We had to drive a ways through Monroe, Louisiana, to find a Starbucks. It is a pretty town.
Now off to return the rental car at Tyler airport.

    November 19, 2019 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 2 °C

Not too bad of a drive, just 5 1/2 hours. Left Pensacola about 2pm and arrived at 7:30pm.
Dinner at Cracker Barrel. Probably the last time for awhile.
    Next Day and LAST DAY:
Plan on getting out of here at 9am. Debbie sounds like she is still sick.Read more

    November 17, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

Part 1 of phase III is complete. Yay!
Loved the Dynamic Response cruise control in the Rav4.
We're almost half way home. We did 500+ miles today. We only have 600 miles to go.
Debbie feels like she is coming down with a cold. Bummer.
    Dinner at Cracker Barrel
    Next morning:
What's up with the weather in Florida?! 35 degrees! XXXV stinkin' degrees! THIRTY FIVE! Did we travel through some sort of weather portal? Are we part of a Twilight Zone remake? Brrrr...
Had a good visit with aunt Sharon and uncle George. Two of my favorite relatives that I rarely get to see. In fact, this is the first time I've spent this much time with uncle George one on one.
Lunch with everyone at, where else, Cracker Barrel.

    Back in the USA

    November 17, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 11 °C

Tired! I didn't sleep well. Anxious to get off the boat and get phase III started.
It all went well and we got off the boat and into the rental car with a minimum of problems.
Who made it so COLD!! This is Florida for crying out loud.
We loaded up the Rav4 with 5 people and all their cruise luggage as well as train luggage. We drove to the Orlando airport with luggage everywhere including our maps. We dropped Jordan and Zak off and then headed off to Pensacola, aka Part 1 of phase III.

    Last night

    November 16, 2019, North Atlantic Ocean ⋅ ☀️ 27 °C

I'm a little excited as I am ready to be home. Still have a ways to go, but is the end of the second phase and the start of the third and final phase.
I'm pretty much packed. We're leaving the boat at 7 tomorrow morning.
Dinner was outstanding. I'm gonna miss that.

Day 7: On the way home

    November 16, 2019 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

    I'm ready to be home.
Debbie is not feeling well. Her throat is pretty sore. We're hoping a Flat White will fix it.
The Flat White & other medicine I found definitely perked her up.
We had brunch with Jordan and seek and then waited for them at the end of the Abyss run.
Most of the family got together to pick our family pictures. Pricey!
Then off to watch Grease. While well done it was fairly raunchy.

    Day 6: Cozumel

    November 15, 2019 in Mexico ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

There's a mess of other cruise ships on this island.
Just a maze of a mall. Maybe it's a Mexico thing but I encountered the people at the doors to the shops encouraging you to come in and shop. These guys were more polite than on the West coast of Mexico.
Saw Jordan, Lacee & Zak in line to go swimming with the dolphins.
After nap and lunch I played gooney golf.
