This place is great! The bar is dark wood and mirrors, the ceiling is tin, the floor is super creaky. This homemade lager is everything Bud wishes it could be, delicious. Ordered duck, have high expectations.

The road coming down from that last view was quite challenging. After was nice S curves. Great bike road.Leggi altro

Hotel

Man, Burlington has like 20 hotels (6 of them are side by side near the airport) and everything was sold out. I had to go an hour south to Rutland at this clean but run-down motel. And on my way here I passed 1 nice b+b and 2 nice motels, all of which were not on Google maps. You have to be some kind of stupid to not have your business on the Internet nowadays.Leggi altro

far flung road

This is wheelerville rd out of Rutland. The suburbs before it were very nice, solidly middle class. And all houses were unique, not like some damn Mcmansion development. The road became about as rural as you could get while still having power (the telephone poles had one single wire.)Leggi altro

awesome road

Man, I love this road. It's a part of VT 4 that winds along a river with two mountains up against you. The river is very shallow now and sparkled. The air is cool and fresh. The sun is very bright and the shadows very dark.Leggi altro

As you drive along these roads you go by the occasional shack on the side of the road, jammed between the road and the hillside, with the obligatory abandoned something in the weeds on the side. This restaurant maybe used to be one. The building is totally ramshackle and not located near anything - intersection, gas station, neighborhood, nothing. A little ways back is the swimmin hole at the ol quarry. There's cars everywhere. Now I'm at the Greenwich Village of VT. This town somehow got every fashion house to open a store here. It's pretentious like you can't imagine. Something like this ruins VT's image.Leggi altro
