After saying our byes to Linda and Jonty, we started to drive to Grand Canyon where we’ll stay for 2 days after 8am. Leaving the mountains surrounding Palm Springs for the desert.

Enjoying the music as we travel the long roads and getting more confident with the hands free driving! Along the plains are huge solar farms and at one point palm tree farms. Looked like large palmWeiterlesen
Crossing into Arizona state from California state we lose an hour. The border is the Colorado River. Changing landscapes as we go.
In part the railway tracks criss-cross the roads, other times they run parallel powerful engines towing *many* carriages that contain large storage containers.

We approach the Kaibab Forest Park and see snowy mountains in the distance. Passed Red Butte, a prominent red mountain on our right (no photo taken 🙄😄).

We arrive at the Grand Hotel after driving through some incredible landscapes.
The hotel has a homely feel but with the grandeur of seeing animal heads on the walls and above the fireplace 😆.Weiterlesen
