Riding through this town, we admired its beautiful Sino-Portuguese buildings. This time of the year, the streets sparkled with New Year and Christmas decorations, adding to the town’s lively charm.

After welcoming the New Year at Patong Beach, we headed back to our hostel. The roads were packed with crowds, making the ride slow and chaotic. I kept honking for space until I realized something odd. No one else was honking. That’s when it hit me that I hadn’t heard a single honk during my entire trip. Turns out, honking is rare in Thailand. So I silently maneuvered through the crowd.
