Holiday Travels

Our first official day in the Ozarks of Arkansas started off with a five mile hike along the start of the Ozark Highlands Trail and looping back on Sheppard Springs. Walking through the deciduous forest brought me back to playing in the woods as a child, though a bit rockier than the piedmont of NC. The serenity and calmness being broken by the four paws trotting through the leaves in front of me and my two left feet tripping over rock, root, and limb; with the occasional exclamation of "Easy! Easy!" as I was pulled along the trail. We stopped to admire frozen waterfalls, a couple random fireplaces, and the bright green moss covered rocks and trees. The only thing missing was the other third of our wandering trio that we left behind at our home on wheels to rest and recover.もっと詳しく
