  • Town of Boquillas

    February 16, 2025 in Mexico ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Took a boat across the Rio Grande to the town of Boquillas. Maybe you’ve heard Paul’s stories from 32 years ago when he was here last. 🤪 🍻
Walked into town and had lunch and couple wobbly pops for Paul and regular pop for me.Read more

  • Seminole Canyon state park

    February 20, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 3 °C

Was a cool morning to start at -4C. Warmed up to a whopping 3C. Big shift from 30C the day before.
Left Big Bend for an overnight in Seminole State park, home to ancient pictographs and canyons.
Stopped at Judge Roy Bean museum along the way. (I had no idea who this was 🤷‍♀️)
Go team 🇨🇦 🥅 🏒! Hopefully we have enough 🛜 to stream the game tonight.

Miles of beaches. Driveable, walkable and runnable.
Saw a couple of these pink feathered wading birds. Roseate spoonbill. Picture from internet. Pretty bird.
Unbelievable the level of humidity. Starting in the evening the vehicle and trailer just drenched in dew.Read more

  • March already!

    March 1, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 22 °C

After leaving San Antonio, we headed to Dallas area near Waxahachie where Paul worked for a brief year.
It was a good opportunity to pause the trip for an extended weekend while I made a quick trip back home to visit family. And Paul “held the fort down” and enjoyed some golf.
Just sitting in DTW for a flight that has changed 6x so far. From 730pm to 1215am and everything in between!

  • Hello Arkansas

    March 6, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 15 °C

With Texas in the rear view mirror, Paul picked up his 40th state today. Arkansas. (Still 48 states for me)
Throughout eastern Texas and Arkansas the flowering trees have been in bloom. There’s random bunches of “wild” daffodils here and there. My guess is that with flooding the bulbs have moved to these places.
Spending the night on an oxbow lake from the Mississippi River.
Heading through Mississippi tomorrow with a few nights in Alabama.

  • Armadillo sighting

    March 8, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ☁️ 20 °C

Yesterday Paul went golfing in Tuscaloosa and I ran the riverfront path. He’s hoping for greener courses on the coast.
Had to take advantage of the weather with incoming rain for Sunday.
Last night I heard some rustling in the leaves near our trailer. It was an armadillo! Not a great pic as it was dark out already.Read more

Had a schnitzel for supper and German cake for dessert 😋. All while sitting outside along the Chattahoochee river.
The blooms are dogwood trees (white) and magnolia trees (pink).

  • Savannah Georgia

    March 15, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

Took a wander around Savannah. Apparently they host the second biggest St Paddy’s day parade in the country. So lots of festivities this weekend and the parade on Monday.

  • The Carolinas

    March 18, 2025 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 23 °C

We arrived to Myrtle Beach Monday afternoon. Biggest campground we’ve ever stayed in. We are at site 539 if that tells you the size 😂. It’s a resort style place with all the amenities of pools, a pond, all the sport activities you would want, a general store, cafe, laundry…. Our site is nice enough. I can hear the waves rolling in with the tide (even over the snoring 😂). We are not part of the “parking lot” sites that host many of the seasonal rvs.
Today Paul golfed (he nearly stepped on a mud snake) and I went for a run in NC, which is just up the road.

  • Virginia Beach VA

    March 24, 2025 in the United States ⋅ 🌬 19 °C

Left Myrtle Beach this morning to arrive in Virginia Beach this afternoon.
Still spring like and nice temps. We saw as high as 26C today. I suspect after Thursday we will be into much cooler temps.
Spending the night in First Landing state park. The park is where English colonists first landed in 1607.
