Tortilla Flat and Boulder Canyon

Went for a hike in Boulder Canyon and a stop in Tortilla flat for 🍻 and nachos. Tortilla flat is the last surviving stagecoach stop along the Apache Trail.
The town has a population of 6.
Lonetree via Peralta Canyon

Triple arch

Went for a hike on the Triple arch trail in the Tonto Nat’l forest.

Catalina State Park

Back in Catalina State Park for 2 weeks. Oro Valley just north of Tucson.
Time flies. A month from now we will be headed for Texas already.

Came across a crested saguaro 🌵 today on a guided geology walk. Nice that she was also pointing out interesting flora.

Sabino Canyon

Went to Sabino Canyon Recreation area and hiked up Blackett’s Ridge. Another crested cactus 🌵 today 👀 in the nature loop.
Picacho Peak State park

Met Rich and Kristy (Calgary friends) at Picacho peak state park for some hiking, shelter dog walking, picnic lunch and some board games.
And later some live music back at our campground.
Wild Burro to Wild Mustang loop

Another hike in this area. No wild burros, mustangs or javelinas seen.
Just a picture of a prickly pear cactus to show how the javelinas shred them when they are grazing.

We went on a guided native plant walk in Catalina State park. Had lunch back at the trailer.
After lunch we went for some walks in Saguaro national park.

The day started out with a trail run in Catalina with Rich while Paul went hiking with Darlene and Kristy.

Today we left Catalina State park campground. Had to say goodbye to some wonderful camp hosts Val and Marsh and volunteer Kris with her sidekick 🐾 Nala.

We went to Tombstone and saw a reenactment of the OK corral shootout.
Drove on to Bisbee for a little walkabout in the town.

The Grand Canyon!

Drove to the Grand Canyon. Did a hike down to Ooh Aah Point and along the rim trail. By afternoon the Hermit Rd reopened after a recent snowfall. So we drove that and stopped at many if not all theもっと詳しく

Went for a hike in Sedona area. Soldiers pass to a cave and Brins Mesa.
Had lunch at Oak Creek Brewery and looked in a few shops while Paul had a 🍻
Saguaro Lake

Papago park

Had to drop snowbird Darlene off to ✈️ back to ❄️. Paul went golfing with a buddy and I went for a hot 30C run in Papago park.
Siphon Draw to Flat Iron ⛰️

Went for a scramble/hike today up Siphon draw.

City of Rocks State Park

Left Arizona for New Mexico today. Very windy and dusty. Spending a night in City of Rocks State park. Braved the wind and went for a walk amongst the rocks for sunset.
White Sands National Park
