  • Camping Dajti

    22.–24. sep. 2025, Albania ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C

    Day 80 - 82: Sanctuary
A pleasant, family-run campsite with chickens and a great base for exploring Tirana. Good bus connections to the city. Every evening, the host treated every guest to a raki. Free of charge for sure ;D
The entrance is steep, but we are already used to that from Montenegro ;)

  • Tirana

    22. september 2025, Albania ⋅ ☀️ 26 °C

Day 80: The capital of Albania.
A very modern city with many extravagant and colourful buildings. A very progressive city with many unusual bars and pubs. It creates a great attitude towards life.

  • Bar Komiteti

    23. september 2025, Albania ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

    Day 81: First, a raki!

The second day began with what felt like endless raki. At the Bar Komiteti, we found over 50 different types of raki. Of course, we tried eight of them first... What can I say? It's a super cosy place with a great atmosphere and world-class raki. Definitely worth a visit!Les mer

  • Bunk‘Art 1

    24. september 2025, Albania ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

    Day 82: Tirana Bunker Museum

The first Bunk'Art 1 Museum is located just outside the city centre. It is a truly remarkable museum with a wealth of fascinating Albanian history. Simply walking through the narrow rooms and floors is an enjoyable experience.
Interestingly, several floors are still used by the Albanian military/secret service today and are top secret.

  • Osum Canyon

    26.–27. sep. 2025, Albania ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

    Day 84 - 85: Somehow disappointing

After our wonderful experiences in Berat, we drove on to the mountains and the Osum canyon, full of hope and confidence. When we arrived, we were greeted by a truly beautiful canyon. However, due to the rainfall over the previous few days, we also found the terrain to be very muddy and boggy. We decided to move on after one night, as there was no prospect of good weather. Even more annoying was the fact that the roads to Permet were impassable without a 4x4. So we had to drive all the way back to Berat and the coast.Les mer

  • In middle of forest

    27.–28. sep. 2025, Albania ⋅ ☁️ 21 °C

    Day 85 - 86: A day's drive

Due to the weather and the resulting impassable roads, we were unable to make it from the Osum canyon to Permet and were forced to return to Berat and from there back to the coast. Our mood was accordingly gloomy, as we had to drive a total of 220 km back, which took us four hours or more. Nevertheless, we arrived at the coast in the evening. We spent the night in a beautiful spruce forest.Les mer

  • Dhermi

    28. september 2025, Albania ⋅ 🌧 20 °C

    Day 86: Coastal town

We slowly but surely made our way down the coast. The landscape changed, and so did our impressions. From Dhermi onwards, you get a real taste of Greece, as the landscape and culture change. The town itself looks like a Greek town straight out of a picture book. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a suitable place for our camper Hugo, so we moved on. Unfortunately, there is no photo here :/Les mer

  • Gjipe Canyon sleep place

    28.–29. sep. 2025, Albania ⋅ 🌧 20 °C

Day 86 - 87: Beautiful spot at Gjipe

In addition to all the parking spaces where you have to pay, if you are clever, there is also the option of finding free spaces on your own in nature. Really great place 15 minutes away from Gjipe Beach and Canyon. The only disadvantage was that in the evening a man came and tried to extort money, but without success.Les mer

  • Gjipe Beach

    28. september 2025, Albania ⋅ 🌧 20 °C

Day 86: Great beach with hippie flair

Here, where nature combines a great canyon with beach and sea. 🌊
We decided to cool off in the sea first and then go hiking in the canyon. This beach right in the canyon really has a great atmosphere.
In the afternoon, while having a drink in one of the bars on the beach, we met a group of lads from Kiel.

  • Cyclope Bay

    28. september 2025, Albania ⋅ 🌧 20 °C

    Day 86: Sunset 🌅

We headed to the next bar with the lads from Kiel to watch the sunset from there. Just getting there was a highlight and really fun with the Kielers :D
The bar was closed and the sunset was so-so, but it was definitely a really funny evening!Les mer

  • Unnamed Road at Manastir

    1.–4. okt. 2025, Albania ⋅ ☁️ 23 °C

Day 89 - 92: Marvel at and weather the storm

As the storm approached, we made our way up a mountain for a safe space and watch the storm. The night was wild but totally fine, despite the storm ⛈️.
The view of Corfu from here was also breathtaking. We used the location to explore the area and returned in the evening. Corfu Love is definitely there without ever having been there ♥️

  • Waves beach bar

    3. oktober 2025, Albania ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Day 91: Along the Albanian Riviera

Further down the coast, we stopped in Ksamil and the surrounding area. Looking for a place to sleep near the sea, we found the Waves Bar. It was already closed at the time, but it would definitely have been possible to stay there overnight.
However, due to the storm, we decided just to visit the beach and drive on. Really great bay 👍

  • Camping Laerti

    4.–5. okt. 2025, Albania ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

    Day 92 - 93: A stopgap solution,

not particularly attractive and certainly not cheap by Albanian standards. However, due to repairs, laundry and toilet emptying, we decided on the spur of the moment to spend the night at Camp Laerti. All in all, totally fine for one night.Les mer

  • Gasstation

    5.–6. okt. 2025, Albania ⋅ 🌧 18 °C

    Day 93 - 94: Refuelling with a new twist 😂
Due to severe weather and problems with the roof, we decided to spend the night at an abandoned petrol station. We got through the night just fine thanks to the space, and it was kind of funny too xDLes mer

  • Thermal water Permet

    6. oktober 2025, Albania ⋅ ⛅ 18 °C

Day 94: More appearance than substance

We decided to go to Permet after all to enjoy the thermal springs. When we arrived, we were greeted by a rather dreary sight. Lots of construction work for new car parks (commercialisation really kicks in) and hot springs that are not even remotely hot... However, the canyon was definitely an eye-catcher and the hike here was a great experience.Les mer

  • Viewpoint petran

    6.–9. okt. 2025, Albania ⋅ ☀️ 15 °C

    Day 94 - 97: Repairing the camper

Since our camper urgently needed repairs and we could get everything we needed from Permet, we decided to stay here until we had repaired the camper. This took three days, as things kept going missing and new problems cropped up after the old ones had been fixed.Les mer
