Port Louis, Mauritius

Called on Mauritius for the day on our way to Africa. The beautiful Island Nation gained independence in 1968. Toured the Botanical Gardens with beautiful mature trees, spices, birds and even a few Flying Foxes. Caught one on camera hanging in a tree. Some of the largest Water Lillies in the world were spectacular. Many were at least 48”. Visited Fort Adelaide/Citadel perched on top of a dormant volcano towering over the city. Great views!Leia mais
