Polda rock

A large rock (this is granite rock the same as Mt. Wudinna) with a dam and some tanks built to collect the rain water coming off the rock. Before the arrival of the pipeline this was the towns’Weiterlesen

The family farm is now run by Robert (Bert) who is the grandson of original John Kwaterski.
Just a quick visit to touch bases and see the old house.

Single piece of granite approx. 8 acres in size. Water run off from the rock fed tanks (finally a 350 thousand gallon tank) which supplied the surrounding farms before the water pipes came through.Weiterlesen

Large lumps of granite in a farmers field… lots more behind and I guess they do look a bit like haystacks. Just off the main road from Venus Bay to Streaky.

Lunch at the pub in Streaky bay to catch up with cousins. Lots of stories of fishing in the early days here. Incredible colour of the sea.
