High!!!! Winds for many km’s coming into Dargaville. Flat land around really let’s the wind flow. We crossed the large river - wairoa river - very brown.

This tree is a very large and old Kauri tree - estimated 2000 yrs. There is concern about the trees being affected by nasties so there is shoe washing on the way in and on the way out.

Caught the ferry at Opua to get to the old Russell road. A lovely ride down the old Russell road… wonderful views of bays and harbours and islands and coastline. Really twisty. ….bit of highwayLue lisää

Mostly fine, a little sun between the clouds. Heading into town to have a look around. There was a Santa parade and I caught a glimpse of a penguin marching band!
