London Week #4 Pt. 1

So much happened this week!! Keeping up with school work and trying to travel/take advantage of London is proving a bit difficult for my last few weeks. Not sleeping too much but I will try soon and know I’ll be grateful for all the memories when I’m back.

Went to the British Museum where they have pieces like the Rosetta Stone and old Egyptian statues. They have items from almost every continent. Because of my classes, I know a lot of these artifacts have terrible histories tied to them and many movements to repatriate these to the countries of origin they were taken from. Tried to appreciate the exhibits but I was still imagining the history behind them.

Wednesdays we have no classes so my friend Avya and I went on Tuesday night to Edinburgh, Scotland!!!! With the autumn leaves and Medieval architecture, it felt like we transported to a set of a Halloween movie. It was hard to narrow down pictures and videos because we did a lot in a day! On our way back, my friend got stuck in airport trying to get out of Edinburgh and then also back into London. It’s the craziest airport experience we’ve ever had!! We got locked out of baggage claim, accidentally set off the airport alarm, and had to wait an hour only to find out they lost her bag with passport and money in it. Definitely learned my lesson not to check bags either important stuff 😬 I remained very calm and got us back with little battery left.
