Transfer: Ōsaka - Shin-Ōsaka stations

To be fair, the plan was not that great. After getting into the train, we realized that we needed to purchase a Pocket WiFi at Ōsaka station - which is one station before Shin-Ōsaka. We were in Japan, without an international roaming sim, so naturally we were crippled with respect to internet. Also, we were hungry.
But we had a direct ticket from KIX to Shin-Ōsaka. We asked the ticket collector if we can get down at Ōsaka, finish our business there (get WiFi and have lunch), and take another train to Shin-Ōsaka. He asked us to check that with the Station Master at Ōsaka station. He also informed us that as long as we didn't exit the Ōsaka station and caught another train, the ticket is still valid. But to go out of the station would require clarification from the station master.
We got down at Ōsaka station, and then asked the Station master who clarified that it is not possible to use the ticket anymore if we get out of the station, but as Shin-Ōsaka is just the next station even by a local train, hence it wouldn't be such a big expense - it would be a basic fare of ¥190. We agreed to bear it using Pasmo card. So we exit the station, and our express ticket was gulped in by the ticket gate.
After we got out of the station area, we realized we don't have Internet anymore (Internet was limited to the station only). So we spent some time searching for WiFi connection. The WiFi rentals ship we were intending to go was at such a location that even with a very high level of detailing the Google maps here in Japan was able to provide, we were having a really tough time to find it. There were times we even split to search this shop (only to realize the stupidity of this idea, as we spent more time searching each other - remembering that we don't have either a working sim card or WiFi connection). With my broken Japanese, I managed to ask some shopkeepers about this shop. And somehow even they were taken back about ge location (The Ōsaka Umeda Daibiru is one very complex building, which is huge, but due to multiple entries and it's structure, no one can actually blame if the shopkeepers of that complex can't locate another shop in this complex). Fortunately I somehow managed to find a Japanese lady who was more fluent in English and knew better about the building structure and how to find the info about this shop, and she guide us. So we reached the rental shop at around 16:45 hrs. We purchased the only available WiFi router with a specific plan (it was more expensive, but still manageable). The shopkeeper gave us the receipt and asked us how we'd like to return the router back - by post or by coming to this shop again. As we had to fly back from Ōsaka, so we agreed to return the router ourselves in the shop in the final day.
Relieved to atleast have a reliable WiFi connection, we searched for an Indian restaurant (as we were tired of eating Italian food, and we wanted to eat something safe and not experiment now). Meanwhile, we freshened ourselves and had our lunch at Restaurant Nirvana. The food tasted great: it felt better than any Indian food ordered here in Germany. We finished at around 18:00. As our train to Tokyo was around 18:30, hence we left with a bit of grater urgency, and took help from various other shopkeepers. We made it to the Shin-Ōsaka station around 18:22, and we had to run to other platform where we had to take the Shinkansen. At the very last moment, we managed to board the Shinkansen train and off we started our journey to Tokyo!!Lue lisää
