    Day trip to Jerome an historic mining town that originally had the highest amount of brothels in one town now an arty town full of hippies and cool shops . Great lunch at the Mile High Grill!

    After a brief trip to the nearby Saguaro national park to look at the cati we take trip downtown to the Botanical Gardens . Lots of butterflies and nice chilled out place but the veggie restaurant there did not agree with my tummy !Read more

    Up early to hit the road. Charlie decides to stop off to see "The Thing " but just buys some moccasins . The road to New Mexico is rather flat and boring

    After a really long and boring drive we finally reach the one horse town that is T & C what a totally strange place feels like we are the only people here . We sit in the restaurant all on our own ( an alcohol free restaurant) very strange indeed. The best thing was the spa bath with the local mineral waters it just made my skin feel amazing.Read more

    Before reaching our destination of Santa Fee we catch the cable car to the top of Sandia Mountain . Amazing views and surprised to find some snow up there - think I should have worn more !

    Three nights booked in a huge room here in Santa Fe- plenty of room to spread out and relax for a few days and even a real fire to light with a supply of logs outside the room. Was pleased to find the birthday fizz and card as requested for Charlies birthday were there waiting for him .Read more

    Spent the day wandering around the art galleries in Canyon Road and found a fab restaurant that did really authentic Tapas and prosecco . Also got a bit obsessed with finding an amazing sock shop

    Time to hit the road again ,we are glad to be leaving Santa Fe and the rather odd art galleries and appalling breakfasts . We are now on our way to the mountains of Colorado . We stop off at some lake thing but its rather boring and very cold , We get supplies at the most amazing supermarket which is like a giant health food shop and then finally reach our log cabin - wished we had booked longer for here !Read more

    Boy I cocked up only booking one night here - the most amazing massive log cabin located on its own lake with huge open fires in the living room and bedroom . We make the most of our one night here and stay up late setting fire to things and drinking local beer !Read more

    I got up early and had a jog around the beautiful lake very bracing cant believe how cold it is in the mountains . Breakfast was provided up at the main Ranch which was huge ! We made the most of our last few hours here before hitting the road again.Read more

    As we reach the outskirts of Moab we see the first of the famous red rock arches right next to the road . We have just 2 nights at the beautiful Sunflower Inn B & B which is an oasis of quite compared to what is an extremely busy town which is overrun with 4 by 4s. We arrive to find all restaurants are fully booked so we borrow a toaster and cook up some toast and various leftovers !Read more

    The owner of the B & B tells us that we need to be up and at the park at 8.00 for any chance to see the delicate arch so we are up at the crack of dawn and still were lucky to get the last parking space at the base of the hike up there . Its a very steep 3 mile climb up to the top of the mountain to see the arch and extremely hot even at this early hour but soo worth the climbRead more

    A quick stop at Capital Reef National Park named because the white tops reminded people of capital buildings and the long impenetrable line of rocks reminded them of a coral reef !
