Konstanz

So we headed in to Germany!!
Up to Meersburg and then we caught ferry over to Konstanz...
First day of everyone starting and finishing together.

Random stuff

Lake side

Today saw Dave have a semi rest day (opting for ferry), and the ladies enjoying a leisurely ride further round the lake

We headed up to Stein am Rhein, which was a very cool old (well preserved) town...
into the woods

We spent a bit of time in woods today (off the lake path), but returned back to Rhine too... The water is much warmer and a more blue now!

Sheril and I headed back to Schaffhausen to meet Dave and then we headed to Jestetten where we are staying...
We did 71km today!
Rocking the suburbs

So all 6 set out from Jestetten... we headed off through local suburbs and rolling fields...another sunny, beautiful day!
Hit the brakes

Much to my delight we rolled upon a random bike repair shop (that was open) right on the track... My back brakes were in much need of replacement... The lovely guy put my bike on straight away andBaca lagi
Waldshut

We stopped in Walshut for lunch
Luttingen

Then on to Luttingen to our hotel riding alongside the Rhine a bit...
We did 54km today
St Blasien

Day off the bikes to sleep in, do my washing (yey!) and visit St Blasien Dome and take a walk in the black forrest. Very relaxing day.
Everyone is doing well
Flowers

One of the things I have enjoyed a lot so far are the flowers everywhere. Lots of houses have flower boxes with colourful hanging flowers, beautiful gardens, flowers on most drinking fountains andBaca lagi
Bad Säckingen (Toi toi toi)

So again all six hit the road, we headed down the Rhine with first stop in Bad Säckingen which has a lovely covered bridge and a cool church which we popped inside and had a look-see before theBaca lagi
Rheinfelden

We stopped just short of Rheinfelden for lunch. Lots of todays track was through forestry path along the river. Heaps of families out having BBQs and swimming in the water.

Ruins (and the dumps)

So we rode through some old Roman ruins (which had a concert on)... pretty cool
And then on to Basel...
So no one likes Basel
No one wants to stay in Basel
And especially... no one wants to rideBaca lagi
Huningue

So we made it to France!
65km today (woohoo!)

A rainy start

So Illy and Dave opted for public transport options today...
For the rest of us...we spent first part of the day riding in a rainy drizzle alongside the canal (which runs parallel to the river). LotsBaca lagi
the sun will come out

So the Sun did come out in the arvo and we had a nice ride through forrest, with lunch stop in Fessenheim.
Our bikes (and us) were pretty mucky from the dirt track (and rain) in the morning
Nuef Briasch

So onwards to Nuef Briasch for the night...
We took a slight detour as we missed our turn off.
Met Ilona and David at the accommodation.
We did 65km today.
Nuef Briasch is a cool town. It has a wall,Baca lagi
Canal du Rhône au Rhin

Today the juniors took the train option and the seniors (me included) jumped on our bikes and followed one of the many tow paths along a canal parallel to the river. Flat, asphalt, & sunny but cool-Baca lagi
and on we rode

So it was lots of the same today

Beautiful autumn leaves starting to fall
We passed heaps of locks and bridges...
Strasbourg

And we made it to Strasbourg....
Our biggest day of cycling yet... with a neat 76kms done and dusted
Spent the evening in beautiful Strasbourg.
The cathedral honestly took my breathe away when IBaca lagi

A day off the bikes in Strasbourg to check out clocks, churches and general crowd watching
I think most bodies are happy to have a recovery day....
