Rome, Italy
25.–27. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ⛅ 28 °C
I can attest to the fact that Rome wasn't built in a day, as there was SO much to see! The time we spent here was absolutely jam packed, with so many stunning and awe-inspiring things to see. We mustWeiterlesen
Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri

Trevi Fountain, Rome, Italy
26. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C
A massively busy tourist site of Rome, our fault for wandering by at a peak time though. It was an ornate and opulent as I expected, surprisingly the crowds weren't too rude and pushy so it wasWeiterlesen
Galleria Sciarra, Rome, Italy
26. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C
This was described as a mall online, but it was more like a small cut through the streets of Rome. The area was stunning with art nouveau paintings covering the walls, but due to the sheer amount ofWeiterlesen
Pantheon, Rome, Italy
26. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C
The pantheon was impressive, but very very busy! There seemed to be some work going on in the piazza too which only made it seem worse. With that and the heat, meant this was a fleeting visitWeiterlesen
Basilica di Santa Maria Sopra Minerva
26. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C
A large Basilica with a Egyptian column outside on top of a carved elephant. The inside was equally weird too, with a skull set into one of the walls.
Largo di Torre Argentina, Rome, Italy
26. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C
This was one area of Rome I'd picked out to see as it is roman ruins along with a cat colony!

A rather impressive Basilica which bears my name! Kinda anyway...
Vatican City, Italy
26. Juni 2024 in Vatikanstadt ⋅ ☀️ 29 °C
We visited the Vatican so I could 'complete the trio' as Luke puts it - and see all countries within Italy (San Marino being the other one).
It was as impressive as I imagined, but as we didn't payWeiterlesen

Roman Forum, Rome, Italy
27. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C
A hugely expansive area filled with ruins upon ruins. There's almost too much as everywhere you look there were ruins so it was hard to take them all in. Some were in better condition, others wereWeiterlesen
Basilica di Santa Francesca Romana, Rome
27. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C
This Basilica is really close to the forum, so close in fact we tried to enter while in the forum but obviously couldn't!
Opulent inside, as expected, but also containing a crypt which I wasn'tWeiterlesen
Piazza del Campidoglio, Rome, Italy
27. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ☀️ 31 °C
This piazza designed by Michelangelo was everything I expected to be honest - opulent, grand, and expansive. The heat meant we didn't spend too long here, but it was fun to see!
Basilica di Santa Maria in Cosmedin,Rome
27. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ☀️ 30 °C
This church really had a bit of everything! At the entrance the Mouth of Truth, a roman lie detector test, inside the skull of St Valentine, allegedly, and under the crypt of Hadrian (real nameWeiterlesen

Another quick stop by the Cathedral this time. We were expecting to go in here as it was free but the queue was ginormous!

Plus, galileo's finger thrown into the bargain as well...
Piazza Michelangelo, Florence, Italy
30. Juni 2024 in Italien ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C
