    6. januar 2019, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 8 °C

Woke up last night cold had to hunt down a blanket lol . Temp plummeted to 8 degrees, quite a shock to the body after 25+ nights. High today will be 22 degrees, so out with the jumpers. It’s staying in the low to high 20s for a week or so while this cold snap passes through. Better make the most of it before the air cons back on flat out. LolLes mer

  • Lake. Eucumbene

    5. januar 2019, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 25 °C

So much appreciating this cool 25 degrees & cool breezes. Glad to be out of 40+. The lake hasn’t been full in 17yrs. It’s 9 times bigger than Sydney Harbour. Would be magic to see it full & everywhere covered in snow in winter. We’re out & about tomorrow visiting the famous ski resorts where it all happens in winter, rightly named “ Perisher Valley”, lol There’s trout here if your lucky enough to get one. Lol. Catch you all tomorrow.Les mer

    30. desember 2018, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 35 °C

We thought we’d venture out seeing the temps dropped 5 degrees. Lol. We went & looked at the historic gold mine which operated between 1893 & 1917, producing about 60,000 ounces from 500,000 tonnes of rock. Mining ceased here but as been set up as a tourist attraction . The main gold-bearing ore was approx 400 metres long & up to 80 meters wide & extended from surface to a depth of 100 meters. The water in the base of the pit is natural groundwater . The colour is dark due to the presence of iron leached out of surrounding mineralised rock in the 1950sa guy called Jim Dunn who was a Peak Hill identity, pumped the groundwater up through the old mine workings & precipitated the copper onto scrap iron to firm a saleable copper productLes mer

  • Oh no!!

    11. desember 2018, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

When the wind got up , absolutely blew a gale, I said to Shane” we should take down awning”. “ The winds to strong , leave it alone it’s anchored down says Shane”, but I said “let’s take it down now “. So we started to roll her up, the wind took it & wrapped it up over the roof of the van ****** it. Had men running from all directions to help us. Shane standing on some guys shoulders to get up on the roof to retrieve half the awning. I’m holding on for dear life on the ground trying to stop taking off like Mary Poppins .Bent the hell out of one awning arm, so tomorrow $350, for a new arm If we can get one before Xmas break starts. Lesson learnt . LISTEN TO HUSBAND. lol.Les mer
