🌜Stan Murray Shelter

It was mega windy overnight, the tent held up but it was shaking so intensely 😱 so sleeping was hard, got up early and hit the trail right away.

Spent the day hiking with Trickshot and Little Foot and covered about 19 miles of trail. There was a pretty big climb around lunch time (2,222ft up to 6270ft elevation) and we met some amateur ham radio enthusiasts who were participating in a “contest” broadcasting in Morse code. They were interesting to chat with. While we ate lunch they picked up a signal from Spain.

Over the course of the day, and certainly as I got to higher elevations the weather shifted to a cloud walking experience ~ huge gusts of wind, easily 45 mph and low visibility-like fog, but honestly we are up in the clouds… who knows what’s going on in the real world.

As a group we decided to stay at the last shelter in the area since it was windy and damp (not quite raining though, just damp. )

Early dinner, early bed. Early to rise???
