🌜Wilson Creek Shelter

The royal family is back together! We had a fun day with a late start on trail after a mini-tour of downtown historic Roanoke, Waffle House breakfast, cvs for another pair of reading glasses(! pair #3 only lasted 2 days on trail before breaking) and finally we said farewell to our hosts Sierra & Elliott. ❤️❤️

As if by magic, Joey was somehow at the trailhead when we arrived 😎 so we hiked in together about 11 miles to the shelter.

I met my first vegan on trail! Half-Stick is his name. We shared some of my extra food/leftovers I packed in (veggie dogs and burgers) right before the rain started. And then we scrambled to actually get inside the shelter to avoid getting soaked.

Other highlights: hit the marker for 33% completion and got some advice from my dentist back home… essentially she said a missing filling is vulnerable for cracking and infection so I might be meeting with someone soon to get that taken care of 😭 Also Little Foot and I played the “picnic game” in French on trail and it took almost 2 hours to complete it from A to Z and then we acted it out in charades for the non-French speaking folks at the shelter, which was entertaining.

Now we are watching the 1988 Land Before Time movie together before bed 😂😂
