🌜Zero day- (aka Harrisburg 2.0)

This morning I woke up early with Justin and walked him to work. We got coffee and bagels at Little Amp which is a sweet little café near the state capitol building that plays vinyl records-too cute. Afterwards back to the Airbnb … had birthday pie for Trickshot (an amazing breakfast treat, honestly) and then explored downtown Harrisburg together on a rainy morning, focusing on coffee, then lunch. We got different things (sushi, Taco Bell, vegan soul food) and decided to eat at the food court near the capitol building. Justin was able to join with a few work colleagues who were curious about our trip. After lunch back to the Airbnb.

Today was a pivotal day… the Royal Family split up for a little bit…. They say “Hike your own hike” and we all used our words and shared our priorities. Don’t worry, this will be temporary. Trickshot was headed to Damascus VA for a festival called Trail Days 2025 to reconnect with friends, Little Foot and Joey were itching to get back on trail. I stayed in Harrisburg to zero, have more time with Justin and see friends traveling west as they passed through.

So the Airbnb was empty by 3pm and I started getting my pack ready for tomorrow’s hiking, which included permethrin treatment for my clothing to avoid ticks and Lyme disease (📌let’s put a pin in that for later).

Justin finished work and came “home” to the Airbnb. Jess and Dave arrived from Philly as their first stop on the way back to CO and we all got dinner at a cool art studio building called millworks which has a microbrewery pub. It was a super fun night! Loved catching up with them and they were excited to hear more about my trip. Time for night-night 😴Læs mere
