• 🌜Shelter to myself!

    14. maj 2025, Forenede Stater ⋅ 🌫 16 °C

The morning was somewhat early start to the day. Jess and Dave needed to move their car early and Justin needed get to work so we cleared the Airbnb by 8:30am

Kindly Jess and Dave offered me a ride to the trailhead which was a fun adventure including stopping at a Diner for breakfast and mixed signals from the GPS… but we found the right spot and I was back in trail by 10:30 or 11.

I’m hoping to catch up to Joey and Little Foot but it might take 2 days or so to gain the distance between us. Stay tuned on that. In the meantime I was all set for a soggy and wet hike solo. Rain is expected all week but they say “no pain, no gain, no rain- no Maine”

Lots of adventure in the rain- flooding in the streams, trails that were essentially creek beds- I was completely wet all day. I hiked into the evening with a headlamp and made it to the William Penn Shelter at mile 1192.6 after 25 miles. Luckily I’m here alone and can spread out. Arriving at a shelter late is somewhat frowned upon since it’s fairly disruptive to people who are sleeping…. So glad to be out of the rain and not to have to pitch my tent in the rain/dark.
