We visited Pipestone National Monument. The quarries there have yielded the red pipestone sacred to native american tribes for more than 2000 years.

We drove to Enterprise, OR to visit our friend Jacob Strampe. After taking the tramway to the summit of Mount Howard we hiked around to take in the killer view.
Wallowa Lake and River

We went to Wallowa Lake to see the spawning kokanee salmon. Their bright red color made them easy to spot in the clear water. We even saw a medium sized black bear! Sadly he was a bit camera shy
Crater Lake

This collapsed volcano has been collecting rain and snowmelt since 5700 BCE. At 1949ft (594m) this is the deepest lake in the United States.
