Stayed here second day as it is quite a nice spot and I have not been too well today with a poorly tummy. Hopefully on the mend now.

Great spot. Nice and level (tell dad). a good shop today without lots of mithering from the kids! Reversing camera sprang back into life so one less thing for Matt to fix. Roast chicken in the oven. Who is having a quick go at body boarding before dinner. Weather looks Set to be good tomorrow after a rainy and cloudy couple of days.Read more

TravelerYes following you on everything. That’s a lovely spot to stay, right on the beach. Another weather warning from dad - it’s going to be 48c! Western Spain and eastern Portugal. He says tell them to stay coastal and find shade.(I’ve done as he asked and passed it on). xx

Traveler Dads very concerned about the heat. It’s headline news today that parts of Spain and Portugal will be in the 50c’s!! and warnings about forest fires. Keep up with the news and stay safe.xx

TravelerNoted that the heat wave. Thanks for the heads up it’s still pretty cloudy where we are but I think this is the Spanish equivalent of the Lake District. We will hug the coast down to Lisbon and if the weather is still sorchio we may try to do straight across to Alicante and miss out the middle area all together.

Sleepover day 14- Cathedral beach

Met some artisan peddlers that we made friends with. Fernando, the Amazonian, Jose from Chile, Jose and his dog Peepo plus a few others. The boys now have a huge collection of friendship bracelets and clay faces.
Carpark full of motorhomes. The bread van comes in the morning and peeps the horn for people to buy bread, pastries or Spanish pizza!Read more

We are off to explore A Coruna and Are checking ourselves into a hotel as a family anniversary treat.

It is a festival here all of August. Tonight was a re-enactment using giant chess board of the Spanish armada. Luckily we were stood next to Francis Drake. Very beautiful old town just treating the boys to their first paella. Hopefully they will eat it.Read more

So after all of the mechanical issues with Elvis, we finally got back on track and arrived at Vedra to stay at the beautiful house with William and Conchita. They had made a little bed up for one of the boys as they only had a double room available. They were very Hospitable and by the time we arrived in the tiny village Elvis had already arrived and been fixed. Oh, and they have kittens. Lots of kittens.Read more

Santiago de Composta

I swim in the pool this morning, but it was quite overcast so was quite cold. Then lots and lots of kids in action. Drove into Santiago this afternoon and had a walk about the old town and visited the breathtaking cathedral. Beautiful city but very very touristy.Read more

Really beautiful bay with azure blue water. Boys are seeing lots with snorkels

After a lovely day in PonteVedra we have now crossed the border into Portugal and have pulled up in a surfers paradise. Currently next to 3 or four hippy vans playing punk rock. Boys in their element with three dogs for them to throw sticks for. There is a surf School here and we are 20 m from the beach.Read more

We are parked in a surfers paradise, and there was a surf school so I decided to ask if we could have a lesson on body boards. This wasn’t possible but they did say that they could give the boys a surf lesson. The boys are well up for it and Ruben spoke excellent EnglishRead more

Inland a little bit today. A beautiful mediaeval town. Apparently the oldest town in Portugal with a mediaeval bridge. Beautiful old buildings and church and Castle to walk along the top of the balconies in the town. Some sort of concert tonight as there is a large stage set up by the river banks.A really beautiful Old-fashioned grocery store with ladders to get to The top of the shelves. Let’s get a hat I said. The worlds oldest counterbalancing funic

Rather than climb the famous Baroque steps that are over 100 m. We took the funicular railway. Felix and Oscar all over the engineering.
TravelerVery interesting about the funicular railway - obviously Felix was fascinated. I see Oscar got a new hat. Looks a very pretty place. Uncle Kirk rang this morning to see how you were doing, I think he was concerned as to wether you were ok. Is it possible for you to send any pics?

Majestic cafe

Preorted to be the cafe where J. K. Rowling first jotted down the notes for Harry Potter and the philosopher’s stone.
