The most beautiful bookshop in the world. Apparently inspiration for the library at Hogwarts. We had to queue to get in but it was worth it. Beautiful art nouveau decor.

ViajanteJust been watching a programme which featured Alcobaca monastery which is supposed to be stunning- it’s near Nazareth and Sao Martinho do Porta. Can’t be a million miles from where your heading. Dad (obviously) has been on the search for Christmas plans, not ideal ferries for what we need.
ViajanteThink we might of gone past that. We are about an hour north of Lisbon. Just debating whether to go dolphin watching but it’s super expensive. Shame about Christmas plans. I had a very quick look and thought I spotted one on the evening of the 21st, but I might be wrong

ViajanteDid you mean an ants nest? If so that must have been awful, as well as having all the extra laundry. Do you have to find a laundrette to do the washing and has he had many accidents?

Still roasting, so having left Lisbon we decided to try and find some water and found this great place with a beach by a lake. Water is beautifully warm and the perfect way to cool off
ViajanteGlad you have managed to find some water and therefore much cooler l guess. It looks as though you have done a fair bit of mileage and the road your on seems a direct line to Alicante. I gather John is there at the moment. xx

Met up with Amanda, and Olivia (in Oscars class) spent the day on the beach but then after visiting Tamariu And then had a barbecue with an evening, parked in the village that their house is in.
ViajanteI loved the video of Tamariu ! Tell Oscar I didn’t cry but It brought back such happy memories and made me feel very nostalgic, remembering when you were there at the same age as they are, playing on the same beach and swimming in the same sea - magical! So the secret was meeting up with Olivia - what a wonderful surprise for Oscar! They look amazing on the beach: they seem to have grown so much. Can’t wait to see you all again but this system has been a Godsend for me and kept me going until you return. xx
ViajanteWhat a beautiful town and so much history. We are so glad that you spent some of the money on a treat as that was what it was intended for. It sounds as though you are really enjoying yourselves there.
