On the 10th June 1944, 642 men, woman and child were massacred here by the Nazi SS. The men were put in groups of 6 into separate barns and shot. The women and children were locked in the church, had hand grenades thrown in, the building was set alight and a volley of bullets was also discharged . There were only 4 survivors.
