1400m up and 27km across the Pyrenees. Easy peasy, only took us 7hrs.
Day 2: Roncesvalles - Zubiri

Another 27km done. Stumbled upon a local festival that sold whiskey for a euro and charged a firework-loaded bull at children. As you do.
Day 3: Zubiri - Pamplona

Just as we arrived at our final stop for the day, mum's 20-something-year-old sandals finally gave up on her. The walk to the hostel was done barefoot, like a true pilgrim!

Day 8: Los Arcos - Viana - Logroño

A long walk today. We planned on stopping in Viana but ploughed on the extra 11km to reach Logroño. We are now in the La Rioja region of Spain so we're hoping our cheap wine will taste a little Czytaj więcej

Day 10: Nájera - Santo Domingo de la Cda

A nice easy 20km today to Santo Domingo de la Calzada. Think we're getting the hang of this! Less than 580km to Santiago!
Day 11: Santo Domingo - Belorado

Today it was my turn to ditch the boots. 23km crossing the La Rioja/Castilla y León border rocking the socks and sandals.
Day 12: Belorado - San Juan de Ortega

Set off before sunrise today to do the 26km to Burgos. My sandals and mum's sunglasses suffered in the meantime.
