    Tirasberg

    September 10, 2022 in South Africa ⋅ ☁️ 12 °C

Woke up early and after watching the moonset, we headed back the way we'd come for about an hour to explore the Mount Tirasberg conservancy. After getting a little lost, we found a way through a fence and a very rugged track. We parked the car and walked the track until we came across a very beautiful riverbed. After walking up the riverbed for a while, we got turned back by the heat and the flies, but managed to appreciate the crazy diversity of plant life. Then en route back we went into the actual Tirasberg where we followed a path past the big rock and the lookout over the plains towards the red dunes. Was very hot at this stage. Upon our departure, we discovered a locked gate and realised that only residents of the nextdoor lodge were allowed on the circuit. Fortunately we found one of these residents who freed us back onto the main road.Read more
