    After our scenic route out of the East MacDonnells Ranges we had a quick lunch and topped up our fuel in Alice Springs. Then we began our slow trip home by avoiding the Stuart Highway and leaving Alice on the Roger Vale Drive (part of the Binns Track) due south past the airport towards the aboriginal community of Santa Teresa with its large wooden cross on the hill overlooking the small township.

    Once out of aboriginal lands we started to look for a campsite off the road which we found near the Train Hills on Allambi station. Lots of small grasshoppers and a few flies which disappeared once the temperature dropped. Once we set up and had the fire going we returned Samthony’s call and spoke to them for almost an hour about wedding preparations!
