    In the northern region of Yorke Peninsula now and we spend one night at Moonta - large and rich deposits of copper were discovered at Moonta in 1861 by Patrick Ryan, a shepherd. The main mining operations continued until 1923, the region is now agricultural - barley wheat and legumes. Moonta is now a popular holiday town where the sandy coves, beaches, jetty and clear blue waters complete the idyllic panorama of Moonta Bay.Read more
