    The Beresford Siding on the Old Ghan railway track. The building was accommodation for the fettler's, men who maintained the rail line.
    The square tank contained water for the steam engines. The circular tower alongside the tank was a de-mineralisation tower (water softener). During WWII the rail line was pressed to its limits and freshwater was limited. The de-mineralisation towers were built to remove salt from bore water so that it could be used by the trains.Read more
