    Wyndham is the northernmost town in the Kimberley region. It was established in 1886 to service a new goldfield at Halls Creek, and it is now a port and service centre for the east Kimberley with a population of 941 - 54% being indigenous. After a bit more googling we discovered the rate of violent crime in Wyndham was 539.2% higher than the Western Australia average, and was 580.7% higher than the national average in the years 2022/24.
